8th Annual County Challenge Walk at Coach “D” Park
Join family and friends for a great community event to promote community health and pride!
Each year the Kentucky Coalition for Healthy Communities (KCHC) has a County Challenge Walk. For the first time, they are allowing each county to have multiple locations and times for walkers to participate.
The Henry County Public Library has decided to host one of the walks at Coach “D” Park in Eminence, KY. There will be other walks around other communities in Henry County as well.
What is the County Challenge Walk?
-Walkers will register under the #2 pavilion at Coach “D” Park for their age group, between 9:00 and 10:30 a.m.
-Walkers will use their own devices to log steps while walking. There will be 50 free pedometers available first come first serve.
-Steps are recorded and tallied once walkers are finished walking, or once the walk time is over.
-Medals are awarded by age group for most steps walked, we will also give a medal to the walker with the most steps over-all.
-Step totals will be reported and compared to the challenging counties.
– The county with the most steps wins the challenge and receives the “Traveling Trophy” for the year!
*There will be multiple walks happening across Henry County that will also be a part of the 8th Annual County Challenge Walk, walkers must only count their steps from one walk location.*
