Museums-to-Go traveling panel exhibits explore the humanities through historical images and lively text. With the help of the Kentucky Historical Society, we are able to bring you Museums to Go – Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement.

This exhibit examines the events and personalities of the civil rights movement from 1955 to King’s assassination in 1968. The exhibit will have photographs and quotes from King’s iconic speeches.

On Saturday, September 15th, we will host an opening ceremony, with refreshments provided by the library. Everyone who attends the opening ceremony will be entered into a raffle to win the book, The Kentucky African American Encyclopedia, Edited by Gerald L. Smith, Karen Cotton McDaniel, and John A. Hardin, published in 2015 by the University Press of Kentucky. No registration is required to attend this event. This event is open to all ages.

The library will be hosting this exhibit from Saturday, September 15th through Saturday, October 13th.
