June 21, 2022 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Join us at the library for this drop-in program held through out June and July. During each session you’ll work together to complete fun activities and challenges with a focus on science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Each session will have a fun theme, feature our robot friends, the Ozobots, and include our S.T.E.A.M. playground. This program is recommended for ages 8 and up. Younger children are welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

Thursday, June 16 1-3 p.m.: Chain  Reactions                                                                     Create a domino fall, turn some potential energy into kinetic energy with a craft stick cobra weave, build some Lego chain reactions, and more.

Tuesday, June 21, 1-3 p.m.: Egg Drop Experiments                                                                Can you keep a new delicate, egg friend safe as it sails down a zip line or drops from high in the air? Friends from Shelby Energy Cooperative will be at the library with a bucket truck to help us find out.

July 14, 1-3 p.m.: Art, Science, & Math Meet                                               Combine all aspects of S.T.E.A.M. with fun art projects, building challenges, and more. Try out a variety of art mediums including sketch some masterpieces with the help of some robot friends.

July 19, 1-3 p.m.: Mad Science                                                                                                          Create your own chemical reactions at the slime table, try some hands-on experiments, play with squishy circuits, build an underwater sandcastle, and more.

The Summer Learning Program is paid for in part through a generous grant from Ohio Valley United Charities and the support of Friends of the Henry County Public Library.
