Join us as we make heirloom dishtowels. How do we make heirloom dishtowels, you ask? First, you will bring your family recipe (or any recipe) to the library. The circulation staff will then scan a copy of your recipe, and you will get to take your original home with you. Then, on the day of the program, your recipe will be ready for you to iron on your dishtowel.
You may also choose to add your recipe to the program cookbook, which will be a compilation of all the recipes submitted (this is optional, we understand some family recipes must stay in the family). All attendees will receive a copy of the cookbook regardless of whether they submit a recipe.
While we can only offer one dishtowel per person signed up, you will receive a digital pdf and jpg copy of your recipe and a list of materials used and where to purchase them. In addition, our library staff will be happy to help you print extra copies of your recipes if you bring in your transfer paper. These make excellent gifts for the upcoming holidays!
Due to this program’s nature, you will need to pre-register and submit your recipe ahead of time. Space is limited, so you may want to sign up soon. Library staff must have your recipe scanned by Saturday, October 15th, by 2:30 pm, or your spot may be given to someone on a waiting list.
The program is on November 3rd from 1:00 pm -2:30 pm and 5:00-6:30 pm. You may come anytime you are signed up for the hour and a half.
