Do you have questions about depression and anxiety?
Have you ever worried about something so much you felt like you couldn’t breathe?
Would you like to learn what to say to a friend who is struggling?
The library is partnering with NAMI Louisville (National Alliance on Mental Illness) to present our first Real Talk Cafe for teens. Youth Services Librarian, Suzanne Banta and Corey Whitworth of NAMI, along with a special guest will lead a panel discussion sharing their own experiences with depression and anxiety, information on where to get help, and more. A Q& A will follow where attendees will be able to ask questions anonymously. Attendees will also learn coping skills, develop a safety plan, and have an opportunity to make a desk top zen garden.
The coffee, tea, & pastry bar will open at 5:30 p.m. The panel discussion will begin at 6 p.m.
No adults will be allowed to attend this teen only event.
