Services for Adults
At the Henry County Public Library, our goal is to offer innovative, fun, and interesting workshops and lectures to our community. We offer a variety of crafting classes, guest speakers, computer classes, and other exciting programs. Each month we have something new so be sure to check the calendar for upcoming events and services. Do you have an idea for an adult program? Feel free to email Cara Woods, the Adult Services Librarian, at Cara.Woods@HenryLibrary.org.
Directors Book Group
The Director’s Book Group meets the second Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. for a discussion on a new book each month. If you would like to participate, please join us in the library genealogy room for an insightful discussion.
Tai Chi with Bayley
This free class will be offered at the library, in our meeting room or amphitheater every first and third Friday of the month (location of Tai Chi depends on the weather and other scheduled programs). Tai Chi is a standing, slow moving mind-body practice, often referred to as “moving meditation”. The principles learned and practiced in this on-going class will help create well-being in both body and mind. Your teacher is Bayley Thompson, a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and an AFAA Certified Group Exercise Instructor.
Henry County Community Blood Drives
The Kentucky Blood Center will be at the library for bi-monthly blood drives. You can donate blood by visiting the Kentucky Blood Center website to schedule your appointment. All the blood collected will be donated back to Kentucky hospitals. Everyone who donates will receive a gift. For more information on the Kentucky Blood Center, you can visit their website here.
Free HIV and Hepatitis C Testing
Rachel Marks with the University of Kentucky makes monthly visits to offer free HIV and Hepatitis C testing. Everyone tested will receive a gift certificate.
Friday Night Farmers’ Markets
The Henry County Chamber of Commerce and the Henry County Public Library are partnering to bring you the Friday Night Farmers’ Market! The market will take place on the lawn of the library with farmers, artisans, and businesses set up for you to explore. (If it is raining or if it is extremely cold, the market will be moved into the meeting room of the library.) We will also have live music and a food truck for anyone looking to spend a Friday evening in Henry County.
