Services for Adults
At the Henry County Public Library, our goal is to offer innovative, fun, and interesting workshops and lectures to our community. We offer a variety of crafting classes, guest speakers, and other exciting programs. Each month we have something new so be sure to check the calendar for upcoming events and services. Do you have an idea for an adult program? Feel free to email Cara Woods, the Adult Services Librarian, at Cara.Woods@HenryLibrary.org.
Directors Book Group
The Director’s Book Group meets the second Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. for a discussion on a new book each month. If you would like to participate, please join us in the library genealogy room for an insightful discussion.
Tai Chi with Bayley
This free Tai Chi course will be offered at the library in the meeting room or amphitheater the first Friday at 11:30am! Tai Chi is a standing, slow moving, body-mind practice, often referred to as “moving meditation.” The principles learned and practiced in this on-going class will promote well-being and mindfulness in the body and mind. Tai Chi is led by Bayley Thompson, a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and an AFAA Certified Group Exercise Instructor.
Henry County Community Blood Drives
The Kentucky Blood Center will be at the library for bi-monthly blood drives. You can donate blood by visiting the Kentucky Blood Center website to schedule your appointment. All the blood collected will be donated back to Kentucky hospitals. Everyone who donates will receive a gift. For more information on the Kentucky Blood Center, you can visit their website here.
Love Local Market
The Henry County Chamber of Commerce and the HCPL are partnering to bring you the Friday Night Farmers’ Market! Our market takes place on the library lawn, and includes farmers, artisans, businesses, food trucks, and live music set up for you to enjoy and explore! The Friday Night Farmers’ Market happens on the second Friday of each month, and runs from May to October. In the event of poor weather, the market will be moved into the meeting room of the library. Come on out for a fun Friday evening in Henry County! If you are interested in becoming a vendor, please fill out the Vendor Guidelines and Application here. Upon filling out the vendor form, please send it in the mail or drop it off at the library to reserve your spot!
