What is the Cricut Explore?

The Cricut Explore is a tool used to cut materials such as vinyl, cardstock, cardboard, fabric, and leather with machine precision. It is also capable of writing and illustrating with pen attachments.

What can I make with the Cricut Explore?

Given the variety of usable materials and possible cuts, the Cricut excels at papercrafts and fabric preparation. Cut out decals, stickers, models for origami, iron-on fabric patterns, and more!

What materials are needed?

Material requirements vary depending on the project. If you are new to using the Cricut Explore, we recommend starting with paper or vinyl to get a feel for the workflow and capabilities of the machine. The library provides attachments, vinyl peeling tools, grip mats, and laptops to operate the Cricut with.

How long does a Cricut project take?

Project time varies based on the complexity of the design, but simpler designs can be done in 5 minutes or less. More complex projects can take upwards of 30 minutes.

How can I reserve the Cricut?

Please call the library to schedule a reservation with the Cricut explore. Reservations are currently limited to no more than 3 hours at a time. Please arrive no later than 15 minutes after your reservation is scheduled or it may be forfeited.

How much does it cost?

The Cricut Explore is free to use, though patrons must bring their own materials.
