Frequently Asked Questions

What are we playing? Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. Campaigns will be one-shots, meaning it should be possible to complete them in a single two-hour session.

What do I need to bring? Nothing! The library will provide a variety of pre-made characters, along with everything else you might need to play the game. You can still bring your own character (as long as they're level three), dice, and other peripherals if you would like.

When does it meet? The HCPL Adventurers' Guild meets once a month, on the fourth Monday. If a scheduling conflict occurs (or there isn't a fourth Friday, for whatever reason), changes to this schedule will be posted on the library's website and social media pages. Sessions are held in the teen room from 5 to 7 p.m.

I'd like to run a campaign! Not a question, but definitely possible. You'll need to have attended three previous sessions to be eligible to run your own, after which you can talk to the Technical Services Librarian about your campaign. Campaigns should be one-shots, meaning they can be completed in a single two-hour session.

Do I need to bring a snack? You certainly can, but pizza will be provided by the library. If you plan to attend, please fill out the RSVP form above and check any applicable dietary restrictions.
