READY TO LEARN
Read to Learn, for infants, toddlers, and their caregivers, is based on the five early literacy practices of reading, writing, talking, singing, and playing. Participants in Ready to learn will choose three out of five activities to complete for each early literacy practice. Each three activities completed equals a digital badge, drawing entry, and prize. There are two bonus badges in science and math that earn extra prizes and drawing entries. Digital badges will be turned into a set of magnets. Prizes for the Ready to Learn program include board books, hot/cold packs/ mini notebooks and more. Any caregiver who earns badges for all five early literacy practices will receive an insulated cooler bag.
Summer Learning for preschool and elementary school students consists of seven badges this year. Log reading to earn bronze, silver, and gold badges. Each badge equals three hours of reading. Complete five of the nine suggested activities for each of the four categories to become a Henry County Hero, a Super Storyteller, a Tail Wagger, and Super Duper at S.T.E.M. Each digital badge earned becomes a real badge and some become prizes that will be available for pick up at the library. Anyone earning three badges will be awarded an insulated cooler bag. Each badge also equals an entry into the grand prize drawings held at the end of the program. You can download a paper copy of this year’s learning log below.

The activities include visits to Henry County businesses, reading, and other fun challenges that you can do alone, with family, or with friends. It only takes two badges to complete the program. With each badge you earn, you will also receive an entry for the grand prize drawing. Everyone who completes the program will get a prize that they can pick up during prize pick-up week. The grand prize for the 2020 Adult Summer Learning Program is a $100 Gift Card. We will draw a winner and inform them via phone when the 2020 Adult Summer Learning Program is complete.
