Longest Day of Play

Family Event For All Ages

Enjoy the longest day of the year at the library with special activities, including a foam party, games, water play, and more. The Kentucky State Police will visit with their Safety Town, and our Friends from Kiwanis Club of Henry County will provide free lunch for everyone. Make sure you're dressed appropriately for outdoor, messy play.

Art is for Everyone

Adults

Adults will weave a blueberry basket while kids 9 and up will create a pencil holder. Anyone under nine will learn basic weaving skills by making a bowl out of a paper plate. Family Event For All Ages

Stop by the library for science experiments, creative craft projects, building challenges, special guests, and more. Each week will feature different activities to help families earn badges in the Summer Learning Program. This program takes place inside and outside, so we can get messy. Please dress accordingly. *This program was formerly known as Parking Lot Projects. *Anyone under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Stay & Play

Kids

Bring your littlest learner to play and socialize at the library. There will be many activities to choose from, including puppets, sensory play, special reading nooks, blocks, and more. Weather permitting, this program will take place outside, so come prepared for some outdoor fun. Please note, this is unstructured free play for both caregiver and child, not a structured Story Time.

Stuffed Animal Sleepover Drop Off

Family Event For All Ages

Drop off a favorite stuffed friend at the library anytime between June 25 and 1 p.m. on June 27. The stuffed animals will get to spend Friday night at the library. Furry friends can be picked up between 9 and 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, when the library will serve a light breakfast. Each stuffed animal will take home a special storybook of their library adventure.

Learn how reptiles have adapted to their environment and the important role they play in the natural world with a variety of reptiles, centering on the diversity of the reptilian world and the unique characteristics of each individual creature. Reptiles presented in this program range from young alligators to large pythons.

Stuffed Animals that have spent the night at the library will be available for pickup on the morning of June 28. A light breakfast will be served, and the animals will have a special gift for their owners. If you cannot pick up your stuffed animal during breakfast, that's okay. They will be available for pick up at the Circulation Desk after the event.
